My First Magazine Feature as an Unprofessional Makeup Artist!

Hakim: “Mi, nanti bantuin gw makeupin untuk photoshoot ya”

Harumi: “Oh iya Kim boleh, mau ngedandanin kaya gimana?”

Hakim: “Alisnya diilangin ya Mi trus yang loe dandanin cowok”

Harumi: “………”

Ya kira-kira begitulah percakapan aku dan Hakim saat pertama kali aku disuruh ngedandanin cowok! I was excited because I’ve never done any makeup for guys before… Luckily, like a week before Hakim told me the news, I watched Goss Makeup & Petrilude’s channel on YouTube and they had amazing tips on how to do makeup for guys so I know a little bit about the do’s and donts!

Im not a professional makeup artist, it was a great experience and you know what… It’s my first MAGAZINE featured work!!! Haaaaa happpyyy :D…..

Tips for Guys ‘makeup photography:

Lipbalm: Jangan sampai bibir model pria kering, oh no big turn off sekali! Gunakan lipbalm agar bibir lembap ini membuat bibir terlihat sehat di foto

Focus on concealer not foundation: setelah mencoba kepada beberapa “kelinci percobaan” aku menemukan bahwa menggunakan concealer kepada bagian yang bermasalah dibanding menggunakan foundation ke seluruh muka menghasilkan kulit yang lebih natural di foto, terkadang foundation terlihat super un-natural!

Avoid mascara: Mascara akan menghasilkan bulumata yang lentik, dan terlihat feminine di pria which is not something that we would like to achieve! Jadi lebih baik menggunakan mascara bening dan eyeliner pensil hitam di lash line untuk membingkai mata.

Everything matte: Kecuali kalo mau efek kaya Calvin Klein model yang basah-basah gitu, I prefer using matte products untuk  guy makeup. Hasilnya lebih “tegas” dibanding bila menggunakan yang ada shimmernya. Use matte blushes, eyeshadow and powder

Contour – contouring is very important when it comes to guys’ makeup. Karena dengan contouring kita mempertegas wajah yang akan membuat muka model tambah maskulin. A matte bronzer bisa digunakan untuk membuat contour di wajah.
